Timberland PRO Boondock Review

What do cell tower technicians, construction industry workers, warehouse laborers, daily handymen (electricians, plumbers, carpenters), abattoir workers, auto shop mechanics, shipyard workers, and tree removal professionals have in common?

They are all perfectly safe and comfortable in Timberland PRO Boondock Composite Toe 6-inch men's work boots regardless of their line of work, and they look stylish and presentable while on the job.

The multipurpose Boondock soft toe 6" work boot from Timberland is water, oil, abrasion, and blood-borne pathogen resistant. Special leather treatment and intricate outsole construction combined with the extra fine close stitching that is distinct to Timberland footwear guarantees this versatile resistance.

This work boot also features a fiberglass shank to assist you when kicking in your shovel during a dig. The outsole is designed to include deep lugs that ensure anti-slip flexible performance on any surface (wet, dry, icy or oily) or weather (warm, hot, cold or snowy).

What are the Key Features and Specifications Distinguishing the Timberland PRO Comp Toe 6" Work Boots?

Lightweight Composite Toe Safety Box
The ASTM and CAN/CSA Grade 1 approved non-metallic composite toe protection box is carefully constructed to guarantee maximum safety when working in environments where falling objects are a likely hazard.

These work boots meet C/75 and I/75 safety standards for compression or impact. Your toes are also protected against extreme cold and tripping on sharp or hard objects around a work site. The composite toe box which is based on the Titan last design is also covered with a molded abrasion resistant rubber protector meaning that no amount of accidental scraping will leave behind ugly scratch marks.

In essence, PRO  Boondock work boots keep looking good regardless of the amount of abuse you throw at them.

Slip Resistance
The anti-slip feature includes all the surfaces identified in the introduction (wet, dry, icy or oily) and extends to loose gravel or similar slippery surfaces.

Deep lugs and the construction of the outsoles using Goodyear proven technology ensures that your footing is always firm and secure from dangerous slips.
30-day Money Back Comfort Guarantee
Although not many buyers actually ever need it, you are advised to keep your receipt for a 30 days comfort guarantee or get all your money back.

Timberland believes that you should return the PRO Boondock work boots if they turn out to be less comfortable than any other work boots you've tried before. How's that for brand confidence?
Resistance to Blood-Borne Pathogens
Extensive research into protective membranes and gussets ensures that you are totally secure from bloodborne diseases when working in bio-hazardous environments such as abattoirs where contact with blood are inevitable.

Timberland PRO Boondock work boots are ASTM F 1671-07 compliant.

All-Weather Abrasion-Resistant Synthetic Outsole
Carefully constructed using the best technologies, the TPU outsole is designed to include anti-slip and good traction qualities on frozen and wet surfaces while maintaining maximum flexibility and comfort in different weather (up to -45 degrees Celcius).

The outsole is a combination of 4 flexible layers perfectly bound  together to produce a firm and durable all-terrain dual-density outsole.
Water and Oil Resistance
Timberland PRO Boondock work boots are innovatively constructed and thoroughly tested for water and oil resistance. For waterproofing, the leather is prepared through a special tanning process that prevents the leather from soaking up and retaining moisture.

Breathable Waterproof gussets and membranes are then used to ensure you always have dry feet when working in the rain or on wet and muddy surfaces. Timberland completes the water and oil proofing process with seam-sealing to ensure nothing seeps through the stitched parts.
Anti-Fatigue Comfort Technology
Comfort in a pair of work boots is a priority. Nobody can deliver 100% with aching and sore feet. Timberland thought of everything in this department and they came up with the ingenious idea to create a symmetrically coned insole laid on top of a texon footbed that sits between the insole and the outsole.

This combined with the Goodyear outsole construction distributes the pressure on your feet to leave you feeling like you're walking on air.
Ever-Guard Reinforcement Leather
In addition to a sturdy shaft, the PRO Boondock work boot also provides lateral stability by reinforcing the heel cup with an external abrasion-resistant leather piece that is made extra rigid for structural heel support.

The inclusion of an interior smaller texon heel cup not only helps to secure your heel in position but also to absorb most of the shock in case of contact with a hard or sharp object - whether falling or static - while you're busy at work
Anti-Odor Antimicrobial Treatment
Another amazing benefit of the Timberland PRO Boondock work boots is that you never have to worry about smelly feet at the end of a long work day.

The breathable membranes and gussets also ensure free air circulation. This prevents your feet from sweating too much after long shifts which is a major contributor of feet odor.
ASTM Approved Electrical Shock Resistance
Stepping on live wires or electrical conductors can be fatal. Nonetheless, this is not a problem you worry about with the Timberland Pro Boondock work boots because they are ASTM F2892-11, ASTM F2412-11, and ASTM F2413-11 certified.

Pros and Advantages

No Breaking in Period Required
With the Timberland PRO Boondock work boots, comfort begins right from the moment you wear them - whether you're trying them in a store or you've received your online order. No time wasted waiting to grow into them, or for your feet to adjust, it just feels marvelous when you first put them on.

PRO Boondock work boots are designed to not only make you look sharp at work, but you can also run from a work site to any informal event without worrying too much about appearance. The covert styling and available colors - black full-grain, brown tumbled, and brown oiled distressed - allow you to look your best without drawing too much attention because they match a range of casual outfits and colors.
Simplified and Stylish Aesthetics
You can enjoy the same benefits of the PRO Boondock 6" with a higher shaft. The 8-inch PRO Boondock work boots allow you to wade through deeper puddles by providing much more leg protection. On the other hand, the plain-toe looks like a cross between the Timberland PRO Direct Attack and the Timberland PRO Resistor. The plain-toe PRO Boondock work boot is however recommended for those working in less rugged environments such as truck drivers.
PRO Boondock 8" Comp Toe and 6" Plain-Toe Options Available
Great for Any Body Size and Foot Size
One of the many advantages of these work boots is that they not only fit different body sizes, but they also come in a wide range of US, UK, Brazil, Europe, and Japan foot sizes for both Men and Women. As a matter of fact, women formed a considerable percentage of online reviewers with verified purchases.
Easy Entry and Secure Fit
Nobody wants to struggle when putting on or taking off their shoes. The lace-up system is designed with large hardware (eyelets) that allows you to lace-up or loosen your boots in seconds. Having a dual-purpose lacing system at the collar allows you to secure your work boots firmly for a comfortable experience using either or both of the provided lacing hardware.

Cons and disadvantages

No Steel Toe and Steel Shank Options
Although this disadvantage remains dependent on the PPE standards and specific requirements in each line of work, Timberland should consider a steel toe or a steel shank option.
These work boots can be a bit uncomfortable for people with narrow feet that leave lots of room inside the boots

Reviews From Actual Users

"As a pipe fitter, I have worked in some of the toughest terrain imaginable. While working the TransAlaskan pipeline in Valdez, Alaska, it quickly became apparent that the boots I was wearing weren't going to  withstand the 8 weeks on, 2 weeks off, seven 10 hour shifts we were working. (That's right folks, 7 days a week, 10 hour days, for 8 weeks at a time.) I did my research and found these boots. Two weeks into my first rotation I went ahead and ordered them, along with two sets of air pillows.
Not only did these boots withstand three rotations on the pipeline without so much as a scratch, but they are also still in good shape now almost two years later. I will not lie to you and say that you'll want to wear these all the time. The fact is that there is no work boot known to man that will prevent your feet from hurting at the end of a hard day standing on concrete or grating. However, these boots are the most comfortable pair I've ever owned, and my feet hurt less with these than any other brand I've tried, which is always a plus.
I have worn these boots while working the pipeline, combined cycle and coal powerhouses, paper mills, nukes, and even at Blue Origins at Cape Canaveral, FL. If they ever do wear out, there will be no guesses as to whether or not I'll buy the same damn thing."

Verdict: The Jack of All Trades and Master of All

After trying out these work boots and taking them through as much vigorous testing as we possibly could, it emerged that the PRO Boondock is a workhorse and a fashion statement!

The testing process included a construction work site, some yard landscaping work that included digging with a shovel, and hiking through rugged terrain. We tested for waterproofing and oil proofing in all scenarios by purposely stepping into all wet surfaces whenever we encountered them. Testing was also done for compression and impact by purposely kicking random objects and dropping different objects from varying heights.

Timberland PRO Boondock work boots are not only treated extensively for waterproofing, but they're also proofed for oil and pathogens spread through blood. This means you can move between different working environments and still be secure whether your day's work takes you through water, oil, or blood puddles.

Furthermore, it is evident through the specifications and features section that Timberland PRO Boondock Composite Toe 6" Work Boots cut across the safety vs work boot divide to stand out as one of the most reliable multi-purpose work boots available in the market today. It suffices to say that the PRO Boondock work boots from Timberland exceeded our expectations by far and therefore highly recommended.
